On Wednesday, April 29th, Irrfan Khan breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted on Monday due to a colon infection. Irrfan Khan was one of the most widely-beloved and well-respected actors in the country, who won the hearts of audiences and critics alike with his stellar performances on the silver screen and his friendly and down-to-earth demeanor in real life.
In 2018, Irrfan had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor for which he traveled to London for treatment. Despite that, he starred in Angrezi Medium, Irrfan shot less than a year after his diagnosis. Perhaps the most tragic thing about Irrfan’s final days is the fact that he missed his mother’s funeral due to the COVID lockdown, merely 3 days before his own demise.
